Here are some tips to check the purity of any blended masala.

Added Starch Detection
Step 1 1.
Sprinkle a small quantity of the masala in a glass of water.
Step 2 2.
If you find any powdered bran or sawdust floating on the surface, it is adulterated.

Add a few drops of iodine or iodine solution to the masala.
Step 2 2.
If it turns blue, it demonstrates the presence of starch.
